Easter Family Camp

Over the Easter long weekend we headed down to Hobart to see the family.  The Prebble's had organised a Family camp at Port Arthur, so we ventured down Thursday night after work and then left Jake's parents early Friday morning to make the trek down to Port Arthur.  This was not the best idea being pregnant (I am prone to travel sickness anyway, so this didn't help) however I managed to hold off on the use of any sick bags.

We met Jake's mum and Bek and Donny there (they had spent the previous night there with Livy).  Nicki, Corey, Levi and Gary arrived just after we did.  We had a great day together, we set up all the tents and gear, then the girls and the kiddies headed off to the park while the boys went fishing.

Harri had a great time on his bike, going down all the hills, I was a bit nervous as part of the hill was quite steep, but good ol' Haz loved it!

We then headed off to the beach, it was a little bit chilly for my liking but the kids didn't mind at all.

The boys met us at the beach with the boat (let's not mention that there were a few technical difficulties with the boat - poor papa!)

I didn't get anymore photos of the rest of our adventures, but we had a lovely BBQ for tea, followed by a quick marshmallow toasting for the kids, then they were off to bed.  I was a bit concerned how Harri would sleep, as our house is usually very quiet, and it was a very busy camping ground, but he did great the whole night (he woke up a few times, but sleep amazing considering there was a massive storm that night!)

After the kids were asleep we adults sat around the fire telling random stories - it was very entertaining lets put it that way.  Not long after we headed to bed the rain started, then the storm and well I didn't get much sleep that night (I was too scared we were going to blow away!)

We woke up on Saturday morning to a very wet camping ground, lucky this type of camping was very luxurious - as there were toilets with showers, and a kitchen with a wood fire, so for breaky we all headed in there and got nice a toasty by the fire, while the boys packed away all the very wet gear.  Suffice to say that we left pretty much straight away as there was no way we were able to do anything else.

Although it poured, it was still a really fun time with the family. Let's hope the weather is better next year!
